Jazzy The Scarlet
Jazzy is a Scarlet Macaw. Male although we thought he was a she by his personality. Very sweet little boy who loves everyone. He absolutely loves to cuddle and be with anyone. He adores swings and bells. Talks up a storm and loves to wrestle. Jazzy has turned out to be quite the little monster.
Having a macaw has proven to be quite interesting. Besides being a bundle of energy and loving to create mischief, he is beautiful funny and very loving. He enjoys seeing how much he can get away with. That includes going from one tree to the next making all the other birds jump down and run around on the floor. Which is his favorite game. Then when you see him do it he looks at you and say "Hi!" and makes a smooching noise. When he isn't creating or looking for trouble he loves to cuddle. He can't get enough of it. He loves to play monkey, he hangs upside down and flaps his wings and spins his swings around. He isn't too picky with food but you can definately see his favorites when he eats and how he shovels certain things right out of the bowl.
I have read a lot of things on how nippy Scarlet macaws are, I must have the rare kind Jazzy does not go out of his way to bite. He does on the other hand pull your hands to his head to preen him. He is a big baby. :)
It's FINALLY Summer!
It's finally summer (2001) here in Michigan. And to Celebrate we have been doing outside playtimes and baths. I do NOT promote taking your bird outside unless they have a GOOD wing clip, a Harness or a flight suit! Do you know how many birds fly off ever year from no wing clips? (and that's just the ones that go out through the door)
This is Jazzy's newest habit. He will hang like this for long periods of time. Then he grabs the branch does a flip then hangs again! Goof Bird!
This has to be one of my most favorite pictures of Jazzy. He is a wonderful bird, I could not ask for more in a Scarlet Macaw!
